This position is under the direction of the General Manager, the Assistant General Manager is responsible to assist in the management/supervision of day-to-day front and back of house operations of the restaurant and hotel. In this role you would retain relationships with peers and all other departments within the company, maintains relationships with current and prospective guests, and maintains relationships with suppliers, vendors, and others serving the Company or the property. This position is primarily focused on Food and Beverage operations.
As an Assistant General Manager on our team, you will complete a variety of tasks which will include:



  • Hire, train, supervise and discipline restaurant team members (along with the Restaurant management team).
  • Create a positive team atmosphere and build capability through cross training.
  • Coach team members on how to exceed guest expectations.
  • Work with kitchen team members to ensure proper food presentation and proper food-handling procedures.
  • Work with the front of house team members to ensure proper steps of service and drink presentation.
  • Order supplies and monitor inventory levels.
  • Meet with managers and sales representatives to order supplies such as food, liquor, tableware, cooking utensils, and cleaning items.
  • Maintain budget and demonstrate sound financial management.
  • Effectively forecast restaurant needs, and shift priorities and goals as business demands change.
  • Total receipts and balances against sales, cash, and deposit receipts.
  • Show enthusiasm about restaurant guests and is capable of handling guests with a friendly/calm attitude.
  • Work cooperatively with the attached hotel, Brewhouse Inn & Suites.
  • Proficiency in using computer software to monitor inventory, track staff schedules and pay, and perform other record keeping tasks.
  • Assist in planning regular and special events.
  • Maintains and enforces company and hotel standard operating policies, procedures, and manuals.
  • Ensures the highest quality control of in-room, public area, and guest service standards.
  • Operations liaison/coordinator between Front Office, Housekeeping, Maintenance, Valet, Restaurant and Sales/Event functions.
  • Monitors BEO functions, staffs accordingly, processes banquet event consumption and banquet checks post-event.
  • Administrator of credit card processing including user maintenance and reconciliation.
  • Responsible for coordinating grease trap cleaning and pest control along with the Chief Engineer.
  • Submits and follows-up on repair work orders to maintenance.
  • Position requires primarily working weekends, some nights, and holidays.
  • Other duties as assigned by General Manager.


The position is ideal for someone with the following experience and qualities:


  • Degree in restaurant management or equivalent education and experience.
  • Three years of experience in a management position.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to handle pressure with poise and finesse.
  • Positive attitude, outgoing and friendly personality.
  • Strong leadership and a professional image.
  • Available to work weekends and nights - Primarily will work weekends, some nights and holidays required. Flexibility a must.
  • Guest service centered leadership attitude.
