What you'll do

In this role you will lead teams and contribute to a sophisticated phased array antenna designs. You will participate in the definition, design and documentation of phased array antenna systems as well as participate in the implementation, prototyping and testing of FPGA designs on these systems. You'll also interface and collaborate with other FPGA engineers as well as system, hardware, software, and test engineers as new capabilities are developed and deployed into service.


The day-to-day

  • Lead technical projects, participate in project planning and communicate with multiple internal and external customers
  • Design FPGA module and system level architectures with Verilog, SystemVerilog, and/or VHDL
  • Develop simulations for modules and systems
  • Synthesize Verilog, SystemVerilog, and/or VHDL to FPGA products
  • Develop timing constraints, analyze timing results, and implement design changes required to close timing
  • Generate and collaborate on required design documents, development requirements, specifications and verification protocols
  • Work closely with hardware engineers on FPGA board designs to provide mentorship, help in bringing up boards, interpreting data sheets and schematics, and part selection
  • Collaborate with software engineers on embedded designs interfacing to the FPGA
  • Maintain and control FPGA code revision history
  • Debug design issues, owning and driving technical issues to resolution
  • Hands on integration and debug of designs in the laboratory
  • Conduct code and design reviews and participate in cross functional reviews
  • Contribute to proposal efforts as an FPGA SME

What you'll need

  • 10+ years' experience with FPGA design
  • Proven experience with Programmable Logic EDA tools, such as AMD/Xilinx ISE/Vivado, Intel/Altera Quartus, Siemens/Mentor Graphics, Synopsys Synplify, etc.
  • Demonstrated ability to design and implement FPGA modules using Verilog or VHDL
  • Strong technical writing ability used to document FPGA architectures and designs
  • Foundational knowledge of digital logic and timing considerations
  • Familiarity with designing and coding for re-use, maintainability and a scalability
  • Demonstrated experience implementing Digital Signal Processing in FPGAs
  • Strong leadership skills and experience in leading technical design teams/projects
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work with a temporally and geographically diverse team
  • Proven ability to follow process and coding guidelines, participate in code reviews and accept feedback
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or equivalent experience
  • US citizenship required
  • Ability to travel up to 10%

What will help you on the job

  • Masters's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering
  • Demonstrated experience with phased array antenna systems, digital beamforming, DSP design and analysis in Matlab/Simulink
  • Experience with high-speed data converters (ADC/DAC) and signals/digital communications theory
  • Experience with Digital IF interfaces and network interfaces (10/40/100GbE, UDP/IP, etc) and RF concepts
  • Experience in product architecture, system level considerations, size-power-performance-price trade-offs
  • Familiarity with TCL, Perl, Python or another scripting languages in addition to exposure with embedded SW development (C, C++) and PCB Board design
  • SystemVerilog design verification techniques, UVM, or other advanced verification methodologies
  • Experience and familiarity with Linux-based development environments

This role is contingent upon award


Salary range

$160,000.00 - $235,800.00 / annually.
For specific work locations within San Jose, the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, the base pay range for this role is $198,600.00- $278,100.00/ annually
