As part of HSBC's Innovation Banking Division, the Investor Coverage & Business Development Associate will work within our Investor Coverage & Business Development Team to support the Technology and Life Sciences/Healthcare Venture Capital Relationship Managers and Sales Originators by capturing and disseminating critical prospective client information and data and providing reporting and analytical support to the team. Additionally, the Associate will engage in proactive prospect outreach to drive new to bank client acquisition of high-quality firms.

As our Investor Coverage & Business Development Associate, you will:

  • Assist with end-to-end process of generating new to bank sales funnel and operational metrics, and delivering regular insights to the business
  • Dene and deliver techniques to improve the funnel performance for new to bank sales and Venture Capital relationships
  • Analyze and glean important insights from operational data to provide strategic recommendations to the ICBD team on how to streamline and enhance internal processes
  • Partner with cross-functional teams on ad-hoc requests, projects, and critical issues as needed
  • Own New Financings process inclusive of data quality maintenance and deliver long-term workflow recommendations to ensure highest standard of prospecting quality
  • Support team with key documents, such as NDA execution, call preparation packages, and key reporting deliverables for leadership
  • Engage in proactive prospect outreach to drive new to bank client acquisition for both account opening and lending opportunities

For this role, HSBC targets a pay range between $95,000.00 and $120,000.00.

The final fixed pay offer will depend on the candidate and a number of variables, including but not limited to, role responsibilities, skill set, depth of experience and education, licensing/certification requirements, internal relativity, and specific work location.

Requirements

Youll likely have the following qualifications to succeed in this role:

  • 1 - 2 years of experience working in sales or data analysis roles and supporting Relationship Managers or Sales members with data-driven insights
  • Highly proficient in Outlook, Excel, Microsoft, PowerPoint
  • Advanced skillset in data analysis as well a passion for sales
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Finance, or related field
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey clear, articulate information
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills and disciplined follow-through
  • Ability to represent the company professionally to various stakeholders, both internally and externally, and maintain confidentiality
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, research, and sales skills
