SUMMARY

The Superintendent is responsible for managing and collaborating with site leadership to strengthen and encourage a work environment that is engaging and promotes accountability, trust, and teamwork. The Superintendent will oversee the day-to-day operations and has the responsibility for efficiencies in production, warehouse/shipping, safety, maintenance, quality, and other production-related activities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Accomplishes production human resource objectives by establishing organization structure and reporting relationships; selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions; planning and reviewing compensation actions; enforcing policies and procedures.
  • Achieves production operational objectives by contributing production information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans; establishing and implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; promulgating good manufacturing practices.
  • Meets production financial objectives by forecasting requirements; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
  • Develops production plan by coordinating requirements with sales, traffic, and manufacturing.
  • Implements production plan by establishing priorities; scheduling processes; controlling progress; resolving problems.
  • Maintains production facilities by establishing standards; conducting inspections; determining and completing maintenance requirements.
  • Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical and professional publications.



SAFETY


  • Wears all required PPE while in the manufacturing facility
  • Monitors the activities of all employees and provides feedback and discipline to promote a safe workplace
  • Oversees the development and organization of all safety related documentation
  • Insures that all required safety related training is conducted
  • Develops and implements employee programs to promote safe employee behavior
  • Audits equipment and the shop floor for safety related improvements



SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Supervise plant personnel.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE



  • Bachelor's degree in related field or five years plant/general management experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Prior manufacturing experience.
  • Background with manufacturing methods and procedures, process improvement programs and procedures required.
  • Basic computer experience with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • The military equivalent will be recognized in lieu of education and/or experience.



MATHEMATICAL SKILLS



  • Basic mathematical skills, addition, subtraction, multiplication and converting fractions into decimals.
  • Ability to read a tape measure, micrometer and caliper accurately.


WORK ENVIRONMENT



  • Manufacturing facility-exposed to heat and cold
  • Personal Protective Equipment required at all times
  • Controlled Noise exposure
  • Activity level is high-continuous movement
