Position Summary

The Manager of Decision Support Systems is responsible for managing information systems supporting Decision Support and Financial Planning including managing cost accounting and designing new cost accounting strategies, patient data analysis and enhancements, and financial data analysis. This position maintains a broad understanding of our Medical Foundation operations and detailed knowledge of financial models and dat. Performs management duties with a team dedicated to the support and maintenance of decision support systems.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the Job

  • Oversee, and sometimes prepare, the development of comprehensive financial models and reports to enable organization to make informed decisions on effective use of company resources. Models consist of varying complexity, are prepared accurately, efficiently and completed by agreed-upon deadline. Collaborates with stakeholders and subject matter experts across the organization as needed. Also, performs periodic lookbacks to determine if key outcomes were achieved.
  • Development, maintenance and ongoing optimization of revenue and cost model in Strata so organization can accurately assess operating margins and opportunities. This includes cost models to report on Physician-level cost accounting. Regularly partners with data architect and subject matter experts to translate concepts into actual build. Leverages critical thinking and is comfortable making decisions, despite limited or vague inputs.
  • Maintains a comprehensive understanding of business and clinical systems and operational workflows to ensure data availability and integrity used in Decision Support models. Assesses system updates, regulatory changes and internal needs to determine current and/or future implications.
  • On a regular basis, presents financial models and analyses to audiences of clinical and financial backgrounds, and varying levels of leadership, to validate results and ensure thorough understanding of assumptions and key outcomes. Communicates in a clear and concise manner and effectively leverages technology. May be in-person or virtual.
  • Daily management of, predominately remote, team members, consisting of intermediate to advanced analysts. Leads with integrity and transparency, provides guidance and regular feedback, cultivates growth opportunities, to foster a highly-engaged culture. Includes effective use of Zoom and messaging platforms.

*Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications. In addition to base pay, there may be additional compensation available for this role, including but not limited to, shift differentials, extra shift incentives, and bonus opportunities. Minimum Requirements

Qualifications/Work Experience:



  • Minimum 5 years in comparable role required
  • Healthcare experience required, preferred experience with a Medical Foundation or Medical Group
  • Proven organizational, interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team
  • Innate curiosity and penchant for learning
  • Effective problem-solving skills
  • Advanced Excel, Access and/or database skills
  • Experience with Epic, Strata, and/or Peoplesoft a plus


Education/Licensure/Certification:



  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline
