General Summary: The ITF Avionics Electrical Technician assembles, installs, maintains, and repairs electronic aircraft, test, and simulation systems in the Integration Test Facility labs. Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Review drawings and fabricate and install avionics harnesses and components in lab, using hand tools and test equipment. 2. Inspects components of avionics equipment for defects, such as loose connections and frayed wire, and for accuracy of assembly and installation. 3. Tests avionics equipment under simulated or actual operating conditions to determine performance and airworthiness, using test equipment, such as oscilloscopes, digital meters and counters, and circuit analyzers. 4. Troubleshoots, replaces, or repairs defective lab components based on analysis of test results, following blueprints, schematics, handbooks, and other technical documents. 5. Responsible for lab instrumentation and modification. 6. Maintains record of repairs. Education, Work Experience, Certification and/or Licensure: 1. High School Diploma or equivalent. 2. Experience with aircraft wiring, repair or wiring modification desired (3-10 years). Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 1. Ability to understand wiring drawings. 2. Strong skills in avionics and wiring harness fabrication including installation, repair, and fabrication support. 3. Strong interpersonal skills and judgment in repair and fabrication. 4. Knowledge of glass cockpit avionics systems; troubleshooting; ringing out; wiring diagrams; wiring needs; and wiring practices, mods, and terminations desired. 5. Strong oral and written communication skills. 6. Ability to interface with internal engineering support and project a professional image. 7. Must have good prioritizing skills and strong team skills. 8. Must be flexible and able to change direction rapidly as situations change. 9. Flexibility to various schedules and overtime. Physical Requirements: 1. Incumbents may be routinely exposed to equipment operational noise heat-cold-dust, and/or aircraft equipment, parts, or fuel odors. 2. Incumbents may be required to stand, sit, squat, walk, bend, climb ladders, move, reach, or stretch for prolonged time periods with no restrictions, as required by job duties. 3. Work in a safe and professional manner while adhering to all regulatory requirements (FAA, OSHA, DOT, EPA, State, and Federal regulations, etc.). 4. Read, hear, speak, and see with no restrictions, as required by job duties. 5. Comprehend and adhere to management directions and/or safety instructions with no restrictions. 6. Effectively communicate in Business English language. 7. Pull, push, carry, lift, or move items up to 10 lbs. throughout the work shift without assistance, as required by job duties. 8. Pull, push, carry, lift or move materials/people/items/equipment weighing up to 50lbs or more during the work shift, with the use of Company provided "reach assistance technology" or "movement assist technology" (fork-lifts, pallet jacks, pulleys, dolly's, robotics reach equipment, people movers etc.), as required by job duties. 9. Ability to work tight space, high place and outside environment.
