General Notes

Purpose

Provide administrative support to the existing Billing & Insurance team with insurance data entry and insurance verification due to the Flu Clinic Campaign.

Responsibilities
  • Knowledge of how to read an insurance card and identify what type of insurance it is. Basic understanding of insurance plans like; HMO, PPO, POS, EPO, Medicare. Insurance verification experience.

  • Insurance Data entry.

Required Qualifications

High school diploma or GED. Healthcare front-end office experience. Experience with clerical functions. Experience with and a moderate comfort level using a personal computer for repetitive tasks. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Attention to detail. Demonstrated ability to learn tasks quickly with minimal training and supervision. Flexibility with shifting priorities. Ability to maintain confidentiality of protected health information. Regular and punctual attendance. Exhibits customer service-oriented behavior and excellent public relations skills in all aspects of work. Demonstrated ability to successfully work with a diverse community and provide services from a non-judgmental perspective. Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

Medical health insurance knowledge on how to read an insurance card and identify what type of insurance it is. Basic understanding of insurance plans like; HMO, PPO, POS, EPO, Medicare. Insurance verification experience. Experience using electronic medical records, Windows environment. Experience working in the front office of a healthcare/medical clinic or other facility requiring check-in.

Hourly Rate

$18.00

Working Conditions
  • Attire: Jeans

  • Casual attire for training - jeans are acceptable, no shorts.

Work Shift
  • Hours per week - 40

  • The work hours are from 8 to 5

  • The first week (Sept. 16 -Sept. 20) will be reserved for training. The training schedule will be relayed at the time of screening/interview. If any additional training is needed, this will be done remotely, as needed.

  • After on-site training, all work can be accomplished remotely with an occasional (rare) need to be onsite. Hours may fluctuate between 30 and 40 hours per week, hours per day & per week will depend on need and based on scheduled appointments for the Flu Clinic.

  • Length of appointments: Will need 2 staff beginning Sept. 16 through October 20. Dates may change based on the demand of the Flu Clinic.
