JOB DESCRIPTION

Title: Facility Maintenance Technician

Position: Non-Exempt

Location: Union City, CA

Manager: No

Reports to: Maintenance Manager

Pay: $18.00- $22.00/ hour DOE

SUMMARY OF ROLE

The Facilities Technician will be responsible for repair, maintain, replace, and install various heating, air-conditioning, and distribution systems. This position will also carry out minimal maintenance activities to an appreciably complicated level in the area of electrical and mechanical system safety. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• 
  

  Inspect buildings and other structures to determine functional systems and detect malfunctions and needed repair

  
  
• 
  

  Ensure a balance of water and air treatment systems

  
  
• 
  

  Work under direction of Maintenance Manager to perform preventative maintenance and activities to facilities and equipment

  
  
• 
  

  Plan and schedule repairs to minimize work down-time

  
  
• 
  

  Perform minor electrical maintenance to include but not limited to replacement or repair of fixtures

  
  
• 
  

  Perform minor plumbing maintenance

  
  
• 
  

  Perform minor painting, carpentry and masonry work

  
  
• 
  

  General housekeeping around the shop and maintain safe work environment

  
  
• Effective communication skills both verbally and written
• Responsible for following all internal and OSHA required safety procedures
• Other responsibilities as assigned

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• High School Diploma or equivalency required
• Technical degree or certificate a plus
• Strong knowledge of plastic processing and troubleshooting
• Basic math skills. Basic electrical skills Basic computer skills
• Read, use and interpret measuring devices, gauges and inspection tools
• Possess good hand-eye coordination with manual dexterity
• Forklift training (can be completed on the job)

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment is usually in an indoor concrete floored precision machining shop. General noise level can fluctuate from medium to high on a constant basis.
