Job Description Accratronics Seals Corporation is seeking a Material Buyer/Planner for the procurement of; raw materials, machined components, contract manufacturing & services; and for the leadership, oversight, and maintenance of material flow and logistical requirements. This position is located in Burbank, CA and reports to the Director of Operations. Roles and Responsibilities:
Coordinates procurement activities with Production, Quality, Engineering and other personnel for maximum operational effectiveness. Functions include MRP system planning, supplier selection & development, negotiation with suppliers, scheduling, supplier contract management, conflict resolution and maintaining cost-effective inventory control for all materials. Ensures that all regulatory requirements with respect to purchasing, storage, and transportation of materials are adhered to. Develops procurement justification packages and procurement cost analysis in accordance with the requirements of FAR/DFAR. Leads or participates in continuous improvement activities within the organization. Provide input in the Supplier Development process by evaluating suppliers' performance and communicating with suppliers to facilitate improvements in cost, quality and delivery Reviews supply and demand within MRP to ensure timely availability of production materials to meet contract requirements. Effectively manages raw material receipt, inventory and distribution including finished goods movement and shipment to customers. Maintains accurate and timely records of inventory movements and transactions including Customer Furnished Property. Establishes material requirements and requisitions materials to assure on time delivery to production. Allocates existing inventory and creates planned job orders in MRP for procurement of material. Ensures demand is generated properly for all materials. Ensures timely release of Job Order and material kits based upon production demand. Issues all shop floor point of use materials and reports production in ERP. Arranges shipments, creates packing slip, and performs logistical liaison functions. Interfaces with other functions to effectively and efficiently monitor material flow and work prioritization from customer order receipt to project close out. Effectively supports cycle counts and/or physical inventory audits including root cause analysis and corrective action implementation associated with inventory inaccuracies. Participates in Continuous Improvement efforts and Kaizen activities. Actively leads, creates and energizes positive change. Initiates investigation and involves the key personnel required to resolve problems that may impact scheduled shipments. Trains other departments on inventory best practices and cycle counting.
Requirements:
3+ years in Materials Management, Logistics, and Planning Experience working with Aerospace and Defense procurement products and processes. Bachelor's degree in business or related field preferred Must possess core competence in purchasing and materials control services, MRP/ERP systems Ability to view at a high level the overall potential risks and impacts within the organization based on material planning decisions Strong planning and organizational skills with ability to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and assignments. Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills. Ability to communicate effectively and persuasively, verbally and in writing, to individuals at all levels and to cross-functional groups. Must be able to effectively communicate and interact with all levels of management Understanding of configuration management, supply chain, material control, manufacturing, and shipping processes Experience with Import/Export requirements and international shipping Good working knowledge of computer applications such as ERP/MRP, Proficient in MS Office Suite: Excel, Word, and Power Point. Ability to interpret and understand work orders as well as mechanical, technical, and electronic drawings, manuals, and other related documentation Ability to motivate people, particularly in supply chain and materials management environment LEAN Manufacturing concept implementation experience preferred Master's degree, CPSM and/or CPCM certification a plus
Compensation:
Salary Range: $60,000 - $100,000 per year. Salary is determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
