Job Summary:

You act as global procurement project leader throughout the compound development process and secure and monitor related deliverables. Preferred locations for this role are Chicago, IL, Columbus, OH, Cininnati, OH or Indianapolis, IN with travel not to exceed 20% including global travel.

Responsibilities:




  • Integrate global procurement, suppliers and R&D into the development process at an early stage
  • Initiate and drive cost-out measures via design-to-cost, market/technology scouting, reverse engineering, and material standardization
  • Improve raw material supply base and drive insourcing initiatives in close cooperation with R&D, strategic procurement, and supply chain
  • Screen the global Supplier/manufacturer market to identify and qualify new potential alternative sources to performance and cost competitiveness
  • Review actual and future compound designs of the Belden group against supply chain risks and drive risk elimination activities with all dedicated stakeholders
  • Drive compound standardization between the different Belden business units
  • Monitor supplier progress and lead cross-functional reviews to assure timely completion of deliverables and milestones


Required Skills and Experience




  • Wire and cable plastic compound development experience (preferably in PVC, Polypropylene and Polyethylene), project management, new product introductions, supply chain, and procurement engineering
  • Data-driven approach -High proficiency in numerical analysis and working with calculation tools, adept at analyzing data and presenting results in a clear and illustrative manner to facilitate decision-making
  • Highly organized, disciplined, and analytical with a proactive approach to meeting deadlines and ensuring deliverables, goal-drivenand independent, with confidence and expertise in interdisciplinary collaboration
