The Clinical Education Specialist will be responsible for providing clinical education and training to healthcare professionals. This position will be responsible for assessing industry changes that may impact Healthmark's service delivery, analyzing business intelligence, fostering positive relationships with professional entities, providing clinical expertise to customers, and acting as a consultant to healthcare providers. The Clinical Education Specialist will also present relevant materials at professional society meetings, publish information relative to industry standards, validate continuing education program objectives, and support the development of ongoing education programs. The ideal candidate will have experience in clinical education and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
This position is open to any of the 50 US States.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Assess industry for changes in standards that will impact Healthmark service delivery
- Analyze and interpret business intelligence gathered from various sources
- Use discretion and independent judgment to develop and implement standards
- Maintain knowledge of legislation and rules affecting various aspects of business activities
- Foster positive relationships on committees with professional entities that impact our industry
- Provide clinical expertise to customers, potential customers, sales force, and account managers
- Act as consultant to healthcare providers in regards to standards, throughput, infection prevention, and/or construction
- Present relevant materials at national, regional, and local professional society meetings and/or Healthmark workshops
- Publish in newsletters, within blogs, in journals, etc. information relative to industry standards of practice and services relative to product Healthmark products
- Help in validating continuing education program objectives and content to affirm CE eligibility for all types of programs that fit Healthmark customer base
- Support the development and facilitation of ongoing education programs for sales representatives, technical and clinical staffs, and customers that are designed to increase product knowledge, resulting in a better understanding of services and products and sustained utilization of services
SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience within a Sterile Processing and/or Endoscope Processing setting
- Minimum of 15 years of work experience in the healthcare industry
- HSPA or CBSPD Certification levels or demonstrate equivalent
- Management experience
- Previous education, training and presentation skills experience is preferred in the area of Sterile Processing and/or Endoscopy
- Bachelor's degree preferred but not required
- Basic understanding on various equipment and supplies that is used daily in a Sterile Processing and/or Endoscopy department
- Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
- If a Registered Nurse maintain updated current state licensure. If any specialty nursing certification, such as AORN or SGNA, maintain that certification
- If a technician, maintain or pass specialty certification within Sterile Processing (CBSPD / IAHCSMM) and membership in IAHCSMM and other national, state, or local professional chapters/groups
- If an Infection Preventionist, a CIC certification is preferred
- Maintain valid driver's license to meet travel requirements (Travel 9 to 12 days per month including frequent weekend travel)
- Valid Passport to meet travel requirements
- Pass all requirements for vendor certification
