We are currently hiring for dynamic Sous Chef for the Independent living facility Cherry Ridge located on the Webster Campus. The primary purpose of to assist the Executive Chef in providing quality food services to all residents, family members' staff and quests.

  • Pay range - $19 - $23/hr.

Job Description:



  • Assists Executive Chef in menu writing for all food areas
  • Maintains a consistent level of quality offered in the various dining venues
  • Responsible for the setup, delivery, and appearance of Cherry Ridge catered events
  • Assists Executive Chef in generating quality improvement initiatives
  • Helps to introduce quality actions for department's goals
  • Assists Executive Chef to maintains safety, sanitation, food safety, and security of the food service operation
  • Assists Executive Chef in ordering, receiving and storage of food service
  • Assists Executive Chef to maintain compliance of NYSDOH, OSHA and CARF guidelines and regulations
  • Oversees Long Term Care & Transitional Care food production
  • Procures and is familiar with the additional products required for this setting
  • Assembles all food components including all special diets and consistencies
  • Records all documentation required for DOH compliance
  • Assists with training of food service staff as well as SACC staff as needed as it pertains to: food handling, food storage, food transport, cooking & food technique, and maintaining proper food stock supplies for the households



Candidate requirements:



  • Associates Degree (A.A.S.) in Nutrition or Foodservice Management with minimum of five to seven years' experience of continuous, recent foodservice experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Successful completion of pre-employment requirements
  • Previous experience in Senior living preferred but not required
  • Must be able to work some Weekend and Holiday shifts
