Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Setup and operate automated production equipment
  • Setup manual jigs and fixtures for production operators
  • Provide training and instruction to operators on proper equipment operation
  • Prepare all materials in advance of setup
  • Prepare and submit first piece production samples for quality approval
  • Record all materials used for each production order for lot number traceability
  • Monitor production and make adjustments to ensure quality at all times
  • Keep detailed records of adjustments made during production
  • Monitor raw material levels to ensure equipment operates continuously
  • Use test equipment to evaluate and troubleshoot quality of product produced or equipment failures
  • Identify areas for process improvement, make recommendations and implement solutions
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance on equipment
  • All other duties as assigned

Education and Experience Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1 to 3 years of manufacturing experience setting up, operating and monitoring automated production equipment
  • Must be able to operate hand and power tools
  • Must be able to use micrometers, calipers, tape measure, multi-meter
  • Must be able to read and understand Engineering drawings
  • Must be capable of working with teams
  • Must be able to multi-task
  • Basic understanding of AC and DC electrical circuits

Preferred Skills and Abilities

  • Graduated from a trade or technical school
  • Ability to use oscilloscope
  • Experience programming Programmable Logic Controller's ( PLCs)or other electronic equipment

Working Conditions and Physical Demands

Nordson EFD's East Providence facility is a light Manufacturing environment. This position requires standing during working hours. Additionally, candidate must be able to frequently lift up to 10lbs and on rare occasion up to 50 lbs. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
