Program Manager I-Learners

Position Description:

As a Program Manager I - Learners, you will work independently, in collaboration with the Learner Network team of the Kern National Network for Flourishing in Medicine (KNN) and under the direction of the Initiative Program Director to manage the activities of KNN Learners for the grant-funded MCW Flourishing in Health Professions Education Initiative. Manage learner engagements to achieve established goals and objectives through effective planning, organizing, directing, controlling and coordinating of project tasks.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the functions of the department with project vision and implementation plans by deploying project management techniques, effective communication, and group facilitation skills.
  • Manage project planning processes as it relates to MCW learners for the initiative. Maintain project timeline including tracking deadlines and requirements for program deliverables.
  • Develop and manage project budget, handle contracting and financial processing for project activities working with KNN Finance and MCW.
  • Work with program staff within the KNN Learner Network area and across the KNN Program Office. Schedule people and material resources specific to the project activities.
  • Take a relational approach to work with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Coordinate the development of project materials including educational materials, presentations, marketing materials, websites, forms, and reports maintaining consistency with initiative branding and language guidelines.
  • Create and execute project work plans and revise as appropriate to meet changing needs, scope and requirements.
  • Oversee the collection, analysis, and dissemination of program data; contribute to the reporting of program data and project progress. Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive databases and files related to the program.
  • Create and oversee effective communication plans that address all aspects of the project and target appropriate audiences; independently answer inquiries about activities and procedures.
  • Organize internal and external meetings, site visits, and special events. Plan and facilitate meetings for program participants.
  • Ensure compliance with departmental, regulatory and institutional policies.
  • Participate in the development of program resources through literature searches, contact with outside programs, and review of funding opportunities.
  • Participate on appropriate committees relevant to the advancement of the program and the profession or area of research.

Knowledge - Skills - Abilities

  • Independently manage assigned projects, tasks and workgroups; accurately complete project within budget and by the due date with high customer satisfaction.
  • Demonstrates a strong background in project management and enforces project management best practices and methodologies.
  • Recognize issues and determine priority. Able to quickly isolate and independently resolve issues utilizing all available resources. Able to proactively prevent issues from occurring again and to anticipate future issues.
  • Able to effectively communicate in both written and verbal form to customers and management. Able to create comprehensive documentation for all phases of the project.
  • Handle stressful situations in a calm and patient manner. Must maintain a positive attitude in all situations.




Preferred Schedule:




Hybrid, 40% Virtual, 60% On-Site Milwaukee Campus; Preferred Hours: Mon-Friday 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.



Position Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

Appropriate experience may be substituted for education on an equivalent basis.

Minimum education: Bachelor's Degree

Minimum experience: 6 years

Preferred Qualifications:

Preferred Education: Master's Degree

Preferred Experience: Project management experience
