NATURE OF THE WORK

Safety Sensitive Position WC - 7720



BRIEF DESCRIPTION

The purpose of this position is to provide law enforcement services for the Brazos River Authority (BRA) lakes, property, and facilities. This is accomplished by securing critical infrastructure; conducting inspections; maintaining buoys; responding to emergency calls; performing flow operations during heavy rainfall events; assisting with permitting; and assuring water quality through environmental enforcement and education. Other duties include working holidays and weekends; occasionally being on-call and responding to after-hours call-outs; providing customer service to the general public; sustaining vessels and equipment; patrolling BRA waterways, facilities, parks and recreation areas; maintaining thorough and appropriate records of activities; preparing reports; completing other various administrative duties; and any other duties as assigned.



JOB REQUIREMENTS


  • A minimum three year's experience



  • TCOLE Peace Officer License



  • First Aid/CPR/AED Certification



  • Must be able to pass a comprehensive background screening that includes: credit and work history and have no convictions within the past five years.



  • Valid Texas Class C Driver's License and Good Driving Record



  • Requires working holidays and weekends, be on-call, and respond to after-hour call-outs



  • Must reside within 30 minute response time to lake headquarters for on-call duties.




Preferred Certifications:



  • Marine Safety Enforcement Officer, BoatSafety Instructor, and/or Boater Safety Certification
  • Environmental Investigator
  • Certified Rescue Diver
  • Asp Certification
  • Criminal Investigator Certification
  • Intoxilyzer Operation



High School Plus Vocational Training - Obtained with advanced study or training past high school.

STARTING SALARY RANGE

$24.79 to $31.61 per hour. This is a non-exempt position.
