Diagnostic Laboratory of Oklahoma- Oklahoma City, OK Night Shift (4-10 hour shifts) rotating weekends and holidays Essential Functions of Employment with DLO: * Show up for work, on time & prepared each and every scheduled work day * Perform all tasks and processes assigned to you including all tasks and processes you are fully qualified to perform and all tasks and processing that you may be over-qualified to perform * Maintain a positive and supportive attitude throughout each and every scheduled work day & work as a collaborative team member with your fellow teammates on a daily basis Main Duties: Perform tests in microbiology and assist with specimen processing as needed. Follow employer policies, work with fellow employees in a professional, productive manner, and perform instrument maintenance and troubleshooting.
Required Knowledge: General laboratory knowledge, including the ability to use computers. Must have knowledge of QA and QC. Previous experience in Microbiology or Molecular Biology preferred.
Required Experience: AS degree in Medical Lab Technology or BS in Medical Laboratory Science. ASCP MLS/MLT certification or equivalent or be eligible for national MLS/MLT certification. Special Requirements: Ability to maintain a professional courteous and pleasant attitude in times of heavy workload and stress. Teamwork with fellow employees is a must. Keyboard skills are important. Good customer service skills, professional appearance and attitude. Must work overtime or other shifts if required. Able to work 10 hour shifts, rotating weekends and holidays.
Physical and Mental Requirements:
- The normal performance of duties may require lifting and carrying objects: Objects 1 to 10 pounds are lifted and carried frequently; objects 11 to 25 pounds are lifted and carried occasionally; objects 36 to 50 pounds are seldom lifted or carried and objects over 50 pounds are not to be lifted or carried without assistance.
- Ability to stand and work at the bench for long periods of time.
- Frequent walking and/or standing.
- May be required to use a wide variety of manual and automated pipettes and laboratory instruments and apparatuses all of which demand significant manual dexterity.
