Research Technician

The Research Technician will utilize a foundation in basic laboratory techniques and experience with techniques associated with the following specific areas: molecular biology; flow cytometry; animal handling, breeding, and husbandry; Immunobiochemistry; histopathology techniques and cell culture. The Research Technician will be capable of exercising independent judgment under direct supervision. Under direct supervision, they will participate in the planning of experiments and evaluating and interpreting results. In addition, the individual will work on other projects focused on the development of preclinical murine models, genetics and genomics.

A bachelor's degree in biochemistry and molecular biology is required. Education in microbiology will also be considered.


Job Summary

Performs laboratory testing and some analysis on multiple types of specimen samples. Operates and properly sterilizes equipment and maintains inventory and assists with ordering.


Essential Functions

Assist experiments involved in cell culture, immunoblotting, immunofluorescence staining, and flow cytometry analysis for the ongoing projects in the Du lab


Physical Effort

Little physical effort required. Duties are primarily sedentary. May be required to move objects up to 25 pounds occasionally.
