Job Summary This position works with faculty and staff throughout the college to locate both library resources and open educational resources that align with course objectives. The person in this position is also responsible for creating, editing, and maintaining online library research guides via the LibGuides platform, and ensuring that library resources utilized throughout Rio courses are working and accessible. The person in this position also helps with database renewals and making copyright determinations tied to course materials. Essential Functions 25% - Creates and maintains research guides that support the college's curriculum and DEIB initiatives. 20% - Works with faculty and other staff to locate library materials that align with curricular needs. 15% - Troubleshoots library resource access as needed. 10% - Works with faculty and other staff to locate open educational resources that support curricular needs. 10% - Manages copyright processes for online and print courses, including assessing copyright requests, requesting permission when needed, and maintaining local copyright database. 10% - Facilitates database and resource purchasing for the library department. 10% - Develops and revises courses in the area of Information Studies (IFS) and train and evaluate IFS adjunct faculty; performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited institution in education, organizational development or directly related field and two (2) years of related experience such as providing advanced program coordination and consultation that includes one or more of the following: planning, development, and/or implementing program projects and activities in area of assignment. A Master's Degree may be required for some assignments. OR Associates Degree from a regionally accredited institution in education, organizational development or directly related field and four (4) years of related experience such as providing advanced program coordination and consultation that includes one or more of the following: planning, development, and/or implementing program projects and activities in area of assignment. A Master's Degree may be required for some assignments. OR High School Diploma/GED and six (6) years of related experience such as providing advanced program coordination and consultation that includes one or more of the following: planning, development, and/or implementing program projects and activities in area of assignment. A Master's Degree may be required for some assignments. Desired Qualifications A. Master's Degree from a college or university program accredited by the American Library Association (ALA) in the area of Library and Information Studies, Information Studies, Library and Information Science, Library Science, Information Resources and Library Science, or Information Science B. Experience authoring and maintaining educational content using LibGuides or similar content management platform C. Understanding of and commitment to inclusive practices in higher education D. Experience with troubleshooting library electronic resource access in an academic library setting E. Excellent writing and communication skills and attention to detail. (Application materials will be reviewed in this area) F. Experience with finding and adopting library resources and Open Educational Resources (OER) to support curricular needs G. Experience with coordinating copyright licensing, preferably in an academic setting Special Working Conditions Hybrid work schedule allowed.
