Overview

DecisionPoint is seeking a Clinical Health Science Support to join our team in Atlanta providing On-demand operational, technical, and scientific subject matter expertise support that addresses response-related requirements enabling CDC to rapidly expand its capacity to respond to public health emergencies.

The Division of Emergency Operations (DEO), with support of the Office of Readiness and Response (ORR), is actively working to enhance and augment CDC's approach to preparedness and response for Public Health Emergencies which supports the development and implementation of the CDCReady Responder Program.

This is 100% onsite position.



Duties & Responsibilities

    Engage and maintain contact with clinician partner organizations and online clinical communities. Utilize the Clinician Outreach Communication Activity (COCA) and Health Alert Network (HAN) channels to disseminate information to clinical audiences.
  • Ensure clinical perspective is represented at all briefings to assist with communication strategy.
  • Disseminate CDC communication materials to clinicians and national clinical organizations, with CDC guidance.
  • Regularly assess clinical communication needs.
  • Coordinate creation of clinician-oriented materials, such as fact sheets, pocket guides, FAQs, and conference calls.
  • Collect and review previously cleared materials and guidance to determine if it is appropriate for intended audiences.
  • Provide technical assistance in communicating to clinicians to EOC staff, CIOs, programs, and partner organizations as part of Graduated Response Framework.
  • Provide 24/7 on-call clinical communication support.
  • Disseminate information for the clinician audience about clinical issues during emergencies, including updated clinical guidelines.
  • Collect and compile clinical inquiries to inform communication strategy.
  • Identify and liaise with key SMEs who can provide informational resources.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in health sciences, health education/promotion, comms, or related field. Experience should include experience in previous emergency response.
  • 4 Years of work experience.
  • Public Trust Clearance.
  • Expertise in the use of Microsoft Office (i.e., Word, PowerPoint and Outlook Mail)
  • Ability to effectively communicate needs at all briefings to assist with operational strategy.
  • Ability to identify gaps in existing resources.
  • Ability to multitask in emergency situations.
  • Ability to be flexible with a strong sense of urgency.
  • Interpersonal communication: telephone, email, and business etiquette.
  • Strong proofreading skill and attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational skills.
