Job Title: Associate or Senior Editor (Environmental Science), Research Cross-Journal Editorial Team, Nature Portfolio About Springer Nature Group Springer Nature is seeking an Associate or Senior Editor to join the Research Cross-Journal Editorial Team. This exciting position involve being part of a team of editors that will work closely - and flexibly - with the existing Nature Research Journals. Ideal candidate would be a critical thinker with a deep understanding of their subject and interests beyond, and who can think on their feet. The main focus of these roles is to support editorial processes relating to manuscript assessment and the peer-review process; there will also be opportunities to commission, edit and write content for these journals. Successful candidates will work with different Nature Research Journals, working closely with Chief Editors and journal teams, while reporting to the Head of the Research Cross-Journal Team. To be considered for the position, you will have: * Research experience to PhD level (or equivalent) in a relevant research discipline - ideally with a strong background in any areas of environmental and sustainability sciences. These are challenging and intellectually stimulating roles that call for highly motivated individuals with excellent writing, speaking, and time-management skills; candidates should have the ability to absorb new areas quickly and must have a keen interest in the practice and communication of science. Applicants must have a relevant PhD (or equivalent); postdoctoral experience may be an advantage but is not required. Editorial experience is also not required, although applicants with significant editorial experience are encouraged to apply and will be considered for a Senior Editor position. The position is offered on a full-time, permanent basis and can be located in our Shanghai, Beijing, New York, Jersey City, Philadelphia (Hybrid Working) offices.
