Overview

ABOUT THE POSITION

Structural Engineer (Bridge and Transportation)

Our New England Structures team is looking for a Structural Engineer to work on complex transportation projects across the VHB footprint.

    Work on major bridge and other complex transportation projects
  • Provide technical support/mentorship to junior structural engineering staff
  • Perform oversight of engineering design for bridges and other transportation infrastructure
  • Prepare construction documents, including plans, specifications, estimates and calculation.
  • Perform quality assurance reviews of project construction documents, engineering reports, etc.

Skills and Attributes

  • Self-motivated with excellent attention to detail
  • AutoCAD Civil 3D, and/or MicroStation experience
  • Must possess strong project management and technical skills
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Familiarity with bridge design and detailing (steel, concrete, prestressed concrete) and seismic analysis
  • Familiarity with structural engineering software (AASHTOware, LARSA 4D, MDX, midas Bridge, Mathcad, etc.)

Qualifications

  • 5-8 years of experience (preferred 8+ years' experience) in Bridge/Transportation projects in New England
  • B.S. Civil Engineering (structural emphasis preferred) (1-2 years may be substituted for a master's degree)
  • Master's degree a plus
  • PE license expected
