Description

We are hiring 2025 Packaging Engineering Fall Co-ops (June - December) to learn and grow alongside seasoned packaging professionals. In the furniture manufacturing industry, you will be presented with the opportunity to develop solutions to unique challenges in a corporate and manufacturing plant setting. Additionally, you will have the ability to network with fellow Packaging Engineers globally.

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Preparing furniture for ship testing and working with our test lab to get it ship tested
  • Connecting with suppliers and working in manufacturing plants to obtain packaging samples
  • Packaging design projects
  • Creating cost savings spreadsheets
  • Investigating quality issues
  • Calculating volumes (cube) manually and using CAPE and SAP
  • Packaging material comparisons

This cross-functional team is a good mix of young professionals and top-tier professionals. This tight-knit group of 8 is committed to working hard, but still finds time to have fun. In your free time, leaders will urge you to explore the city and you'll enjoy after-hours events. If your position is based in Grand Rapids, MI you will have the opportunity to work in a variety of locations (manufacturing plants, test lab, etc). If your position is based in Athens, AL you will be getting a lot of experience in the manufacturing plant and RDC.

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Preferred major:Packaging
  • Completed materials and basic testing course
  • Junior or Senior status
  • You must own or have daily access to a car and have a valid U.S. driver's license
  • Limited travel may be required.

  • Reliable transportation, our sites do not have public transportation available
  • Leadership experience inside and/or outside the classroom.
