In the furniture manufacturing industry, you will be presented with the opportunity to develop solutions to unique challenges in a corporate and manufacturing plant setting. Additionally, you will have the ability to network with fellow Packaging Engineers globally. What You Will Be Doing: Preparing furniture for ship testing and working with our test lab to get it ship tested Connecting with suppliers and working in manufacturing plants to obtain packaging samples Packaging design projects Creating cost savings spreadsheets Investigating quality issues Calculating volumes (cube) manually and using CAPE and SAP Packaging material comparisons Your Future Team: This cross-functional team is a good mix of young professionals and top-tier professionals. This tight-knit group of 8 is committed to working hard, but still finds time to have fun. In your free time, leaders will urge you to explore the city and you'll enjoy after-hours events. If your position is based in Grand Rapids, MI you will have the opportunity to work in a variety of locations (manufacturing plants, test lab, etc). If your position is based in Athens, AL you will be getting a lot of experience in the manufacturing plant and RDC. We are committed to offering an in-depth training program. Required Skills and Competencies Preferred major:Packaging Completed materials and basic testing course Junior or Senior status You must own or have daily access to a car and have a valid U.S. driver's license Limited travel may be required.
