The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the upkeep of the facilities by maintaining the condition and functionality of the premises. The maintenance technician should have an in-depth knowledge of structural and mechanical systems by identifying issues, scheduling repairs of damaged structures, maintaining inventory, and conducting quality checks on systems and equipment. The ideal candidate should have a problem-solving mentality, a can-do attitude, and strong organizational skills. Essential Functions:
- Assist in all areas of maintenance and repair; structural, mechanical, etc.
- Perform routine maintenance checks to ensure that building systems operate efficiently and the physical condition of buildings/hangars do not deteriorate.
- Perform general cleaning of buildings/hangars or property when needed.
- Solve electrical problems such as faulty light switches, dead light bulbs, and wall sockets.
- Ensure the electrical system is functional and safe
- Responsible for fixing simple plumbing problems such as: leaky faucets, malfunctioning washing equipment, and may be called on for bigger issues, such as broken pipes.
- Maintaining sprinklers, timers, adjusting temperatures to ensure proper operation and customer comfort, safety, and security.
- Complete tenant requests for additional keys, touch ups, etc.
- Perform light carpentry.
- Oversee contract vendors.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED certificate
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills
- A valid state Driver's license and meet the company's insurance requirements
- Previous experience preferred, not required
- Ability to pass criminal background check to obtain a Boeing Field issued ramp access badge (BFI)
This role reports to the General Manager This job has no supervisory responsibilities. This position requires no travel. FLSA Status: This position is exempt. Work Environment:
Work is performed in an office, hangar, or outdoor environment. May be exposed to hazardous and/or toxic substances, electrical shock, noise from equipment, and depending on external weather conditions, wind, rain, cold, and heat. Physical Requirements:
Must be able to perform frequent walking, sitting, stooping, stretching, bending, reaching, and grasping actions. Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
