Position Summary: SIG SAUER, Inc. is seeking a motivated and experienced attorney to join its in-house legal department in New Hampshire. This onsite role requires a dynamic individual with a solid background in corporate legal functions and specialized experience in the firearms industry. The successful candidate will support all aspects of the corporate legal framework, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations, providing strategic legal advice, and managing a broad range of corporate matters. This position is integral to our corporate operations, requiring a proactive approach to legal challenges and the ability to collaborate effectively across departments to support the company's business objectives. FLSA: Exempt Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide litigation support (domestic and international).
- Prepare compliance trainings and assist in policy drafting and review.
- Conduct legal research on a wide range of topics.
- Review solicitations, provide input to proposal development, monitor ongoing government and international contracts.
- Provide legal assistance to ATF Compliance group on various matters, including ATF submissions and regulatory interpretation.
- Work with Program Managers to manage contracts and delivery order modifications.
- Review, drafting, negotiation, and management of all general contractual needs for all functional groups.
- Drafting and review of any public facing terms of use, or terms related to any product rebate/promotion/sweepstakes activity.
- Review and negotiation of real estate contracts (leases).
- Provide support to the LE sales function as needed in relation to state and local procurement activities.
- Provide advice and legal support to engineering and manufacturing functions, with focus on risk management (product liability) and compliance.
- Provide advice to marketing and product management functions related to risk management, and compliance with applicable state and federal laws.
- Support security function in relation to internal investigations and review of new hire background checks.
- Support finance function on all matters, including insurance, lending/borrowing, tax questions, and credit collection issues.
- Support HR function as needed on internal investigations and compliance.
- Provide internal training on various legal topics, including new hire training on a regular basis.
- Primary contact for all customer service support needs, including escalation of returns involving claims of defective products or involving property damage or personal injury.
- Manage and respond to any external legal requests for information (subpoenas and search warrants).
Education/Experience & Skills:
- D. degree from ABA-accredited law school.
- Admission to, and good standing in, any state bar or the District of Columbia bar.
- 10+ years of relevant experience at a law firm and/or in-house environment, with experience in product liability claims preferred.
- Over 5+ years of experience providing legal counsel in a regulated industry, with a focus on ensuring compliance, managing contracts, and advising on industry-specific legal matters.
- Experience in a corporate environment, providing accurate and timely counsel.
- Ability to organize, integrate and analyze complex information from a number of sources.
- Collaborative; able to establish and maintain strong partnerships with all stakeholders, ensuring their involvement and gaining their support to drive desired outcomes.
- Sound and ethical judgment based on legal expertise, a deep understanding of the business objectives and an appropriate balancing of legal risks and business needs.
- Process oriented and able to lead and effect process change and improvements.
- Proficiency in Office 365 applications; Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required.
- Excellent drafting, organization, and communication skills.
- Excellent judgment and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to think strategically and provide critical analysis.
- Ability to function in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and to manage competing priorities and deadlines
- Willingness and strong interest in learning a wide variety of new skills.
Working Conditions:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working at a computer using a keyboard and mouse performing repetitive tasks.
- Ability to open file cabinets, reach with hands and arms, bend, and twist, lift and move files.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
- Must wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) where required.
