Responsible for assisting Portfolio Managers with credit monitoring and basic portfolio management of Commercial/Corporate/SFSG Banking relationships to achieve efficiencies and quality of the process and product, and retention and expansion of existing client relationship along with new prospect relationships. Primary performance responsibilities include analyzing financial data used to determine the merits of loan requests (including adherence to loan policy), creating cash flow analysis, replicating financial tables and data charts, and utilizing standard bank systems for financial statement spreading, risk ratings, and profitability. As an entry level credit analyst role, this position will learn the basics of the Portfolio Manager role, which will involve analyzing, maintaining, and building loan portfolios.

Job Accountabilities

  • Partner with Portfolio Management team, ensuring the portfolio administration and risk management of each client relationship is in compliance with established Associated Banc-Corp credit policy, procedure and business strategy as well as regulatory guidelines.
  • As appropriate to experience, assist Portfolio Management team with relationships by analyzing financial data to determine the merits of specific loan requests, learning how to structure loans and manage client relationships.
  • Responsible for credit risk and quality of the portfolio.
  • Assist with due diligence/analysis with new client relationships, opportunity memos as appropriate.
  • May participate with ad hoc special projects for the team or region as needed.
  • Learn and understand the Relationship Manager role as the point of a contact for the client; learn how to act as a liaison to the Credit Department, the support staff and other internal business partners.
  • Be involved with and observe Portfolio Management and Relationship Management team in making presentations on specific loans, recommending approval and appropriate structure of credits.
  • As experience grows, work on the renewal process with the Portfolio Manager, Relationship Manager, the client, and the credit department.
  • Participates in community and business functions/groups to ensure a positive image for the bank within the region's marketplace.

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience Business Required
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience Finance Required
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience Accounting Required

Experience

  • Less than 2 years Commercial/Corporate or Specialized Banking and/or Credit Approval Required
  • Less than 2 years Handling complex credits Preferred
  • Less than 2 years Sales Preferred
  • Less than 2 years Formal Credit Training Preferred

Licenses and Certifications

  • Must have access to reliable transportation and the ability to lawfully drive self, if applicable. by start date Required
  • CFA-Charted Financial Analyst by start date Preferred
