Summary of Position |
The Building Service Team Lead directly supervises a team of full-time professional Building Service Workers. The position also supervises student and adjunct employees. The position holds regular meetings with their staff teams and supports the development of individual staff. The position independently approves leave; outlines and directs tasks for their staff; organizes and implements training sessions; ensures quality work is completed; addresses performance issues; praises staff for good work, and performs all supervisory tasks needed for their team. The position is the leader and oversees the responsibility for the overall cleanliness of an assigned area of university residential halls.. |

Duty/Responsibility |
- Independently supervise, plan, and schedule work performed for a team of full time residential housekeeping staff, student employees, and adjunct employees.
- Conduct routine inspections and evaluate quality of work to ensure appropriate level of cleanliness in residential halls.
- Residential halls include communal bathrooms (showers, toilets, and sinks), trash removal, cleaning up blood borne pathogens, and floor maintenance.
- Rooms are deep cleaned whenever vacant and communal spaces (including bathrooms) are cleaned on a regular basis.
- Interact with Housing and Residential Life staff, residents, and other university stakeholders to address cleanliness in assigned areas.
- Perform cleaning tasks and routine housekeeping duties, as needed.
- Reassigns staff or make decisions based on daily staffing levels and operational needs.
- Communicates with manager on a regular basis.

Duty/Responsibility |
- Organize, plan, and lead regular staff meetings.
- Ensure that staff are following safety protocols in keeping with guidelines set by the Housekeeping Team Supervisor and by UNH Environmental Health and Safety.
- Attend Housing and university events and encourage staff to attend respective events.
- Understand and explain to staff the American with Disabilities Act (ADA) and OSHA regulations and their impact on work areas.
- Prevent accidents or injuries to the extent possible by regularly walking around and checking in on staff.
- Report accidents, safety concerns, defects, deterioration and wear and tear of facilities following department and university protocols.

- Maintain sufficient inventory and issue supplies and equipment for buildings in assigned area.
- Ensure the safety and upkeep of all equipment.
- Establish routine preventive maintenance program for assigned equipment.
- Share the list of needed supplies and equipment with designated staff within Housing.
- Supervise the organization and cleanliness of housekeeping storage spaces in assigned areas.

Duty/Responsibility |
- Assess performance of staff on a daily basis by walking around area and talking with staff.
- Support the growth and professional development of staff.
- Complete the supervisory probationary evaluations and annual evaluations for all staff who directly report to the Housekeeping Team Supervisor.
- Continuously engage with staff to make sure that they understand the university's, department's, and Housekeeping Team Supervisor's professional conduct expectations and quality standards.
- Complete annual quality assurance inspections of assigned residential hall buildings.
- Ensure compliance with all department and University rules, practices, and procedures.

- Take part in an afterhours on call rotation and respond to emergency housekeeping situations that cannot wait until the next day.
- Responsible for key control, and issuance of keys to staff in assigned buildings.
- Partner with Facilities and Grounds staff.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
