Centennial Peaks Hospital has been providing psychiatric services to the Denver-metro area for more than 30 years. Located in beautiful Louisville, CO, our 104-bed facility provides a peaceful setting for those seeking treatment for mental illness including chemical dependency. Centennial Peaks offers unique and individualized programming for adolescents and adults that sets us apart from many other treatment facilities. Our dynamic leadership team includes a seasoned nursing department. Our hospital is fortunate to provide Electroconvulsive Therapy, Intensive Outpatient and Partial Hospitalization Programs in addition to inpatient services.

Centennial Peaks Hospital is currently seeking an energetic and dynamic professional to join our team as a Nurse Practitioner for our in-patient program. The Nurse Practitioner will perform complete initial evaluations and assessments and provides direct patient care for adult and adolescent patients. This position is currently Full-time, Monday - Friday schedule and on-call as-needed.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Psychiatric evaluations and diagnosis.
  • Consultation and coordination of care within a multidisciplinary treatment team.
  • Patient and family psychoeducation.
  • Prescribing and managing of pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatments for behavioral health problems.
  • Risk assessments.
  • Involvement in practice activities with the goal of improving the quality of care.
  • Treatment team leadership and daily care of patients.
  • Medical record documentation.

Qualifications

  • The ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced environment is critical.
  • Graduate degree from an accredited program.
  • A minimum of two years direct clinical experience in a psychiatric or mental health setting preferred.
  • Valid state licensure. Specialty licensure or certification as appropriate.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in regards to all information.
  • Skilled in flexibility, organizational, prioritization, and time management skills.
  • Stress management and crisis management skills.
  • Skills in analysis and evaluation.
  • Sound clinical judgment and decision-making.
  • Skills in clinical supervision and basic skills in personnel management concepts and methods.
  • Basic teaching or training skills preferred.
  • Able to understand and apply applicable standards and regulations (e.g. JCAHO, HCFA).
  • A working knowledge of behavioral health management practices and clinical operations.
  • An advanced knowledge of state and federal regulatory and various accreditation requirements related to behavioral health management.

Other requirements of this position:

  • Must complete all required mandatory in-services and assigned training modules.
  • Must be certified in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation upon hire and every two years thereafter.
  • Comply with employee health requirements upon hire, and per policy thereafter.
