POSITION TYPE: Winter seasonal - part time SUPERVISORY: No SUPERVISED BY: Activities Manager JOB SUMMARY: Enhances the guest experience above and beyond expectations by creating and maintaining a fun and pleasant environment in the village. Greets the guest, provides direction and assistance, create and implement village activities, children's activities, host snowshoe hikes, host village campfires/ marshmallow roasts, and enhance the guest experience beyond the general expectations of a resort. REQUIREMENTS: All Activity Hosts must be available for weekends. Applicants must be 18 years of age. This position requires a post job offer/pre-employment Background Check. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Provide excellent customer service to all guests at Schweitzer, primarily in the village area by performing the following:
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Standing for long periods of time. Exposure to extreme outdoor elements. Helping guests with ski and snowboard gear and equipment. Snow shoveling. Hauling firewood and starting campfires. Ability to learn how to snowshoe and lead guests up to 3 miles. Will lift 10 pounds frequently and 50 pounds rarely. Nearly 100% of job will be performed outside. JOB SPECIFICATIONS: SKILLS: Outstanding customer service skills. Effective verbal communication skills. Reading, map comprehension and a good memory are all required. ATTRIBUTES: Must be friendly, outgoing, willing to help, physically active and have a positive attitude EDUCATION: English, reading, writing, communication, and basic math. EXPERIENCE: Guest service experience. Outdoor working experience. Winter Sports enthusiast and knowledge of mountain environment preferred. LICENSE NEEDED: None UNIFORM: Jacket and snow pants will be provided by employer. Boots, hat, gloves and eye protection are responsibility of employee. MACHINES OR TOOLS OPERATED: Hand-held radios, shovels, drills, maul. REVIEW SCHEDULE: This position and the person filling it will be evaluated once per season.
