M1 Support Services LP (M1) is looking for an Aircraft Mechanic III - Instrumentation Lead. The Aircraft
Mechanic III - Instrumentation Lead will maintain, repair, and calibrate a wide range of aircraft
instrumentation.
Responsibilities may include:
* Maintains, repairs, modifies aircraft structures and structural components and engines of complex to extreme
difficulty.
* Maintains and repairs aircraft components including but not limited to flight controls, engines, hydraulics,
pneumatics, fuel systems, and mechanical components.
* Recommends test and measurement hardware designs, material and devices to assure performance and
safety.
* Resolves instrumentation limitations or unavailability by modifying existing equipment, fabricating test
devices and related peripheral items needed using new test equipment and measuring devices.
* Uses practical electronics, mechanical, and aeronautical engineering concepts to fabricate test and
measurement systems.
* Applies technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems in determining equipment malfunctions
and applies technical expertise in restoring equipment condition and operation.
* Applies professional technical expertise and guidance to solve complex problems by interpreting technical
data such as blueprints or manufactures' manuals.
* Provides guidance and technical expertise to lower-level technicians and work centers throughout all aircraft
modifications and/or maintenance efforts, including more complex tasks, as directed.
* Maintains aircraft and support equipment forms records IAW Air Force (AF) procedures utilizing AF
Information Systems and forms as required.
* Performs in a safe and efficient manner acceptable to the Company and customer.
* Demonstrates a continuous effort to improve operations, streamline processes that reduce cost and/or labor
hours and enhance operations.
* Maintains qualifications contained on the Special Certification Roster (SCR) as directed.
* Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Minimum of 10 years performing aircraft Avionics/Electro-Environmental functions in a military
environment with at least 3 years operational or developmental test experience; prior USAF 7 level (or
equivalent) is required.
* High school diploma or GED is required. Associates or Bachelor's degree desired.
* Must have a thorough knowledge of instrumentation equipment and electronic, mechanical, and aeronautical
concepts.
* Must be familiar with T-1, T-2, and MIL-HDBK-516C criteria in relation to instrumentation and
airworthiness.
* Experience must include installation, maintenance, and repair of range support instrumentation
equipment/systems such as telemetry systems, microwave systems, position location systems, and
meteorological instrumentation.
* Detailed knowledge of aircraft unique tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators,
micrometers, cable tensiometers, sheet metal brakes and sheers, and related is required.
* Working knowledge of principles applying to aircraft systems, concepts and applications of maintenance
directives, data reporting, and using technical data is mandatory.
* Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance; previous or active Top Secret highly
desired.
* Must have a working knowledge of computers and basic computer software programs such as Microsoft
Word, Outlook, SharePoint, PowerPoint and Excel.
* Will be required to utilize Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as: safety toe footwear, safety glasses,
etc.
* Must be reliable, self-motivated, and able to deal with stressful situations and timelines while maintaining a
professional and non-confrontational attitude.
* Must possess excellent organizational skills in prioritizing workload to meet aircraft delivery schedule.
* Must possess a current valid U.S. Driver's License.
* Must speak, read, write, and understand English.
Working Conditions:
* Position requires complying with unique commuting/travel requirements.
* Will work in aircraft hangars and outside on aircraft ramps within close proximity of running equipment and
aircraft.
* Must be able to work days, nights, weekends, or overtime shifts as required.
* May work outdoors, sometimes in hot or cold weather.
* May be exposed to contaminants.
* May be exposed to hazardous conditions, such as when standing on scaffolding or climbing ladders
* Will be exposed to loud and persistent noise
* Will be required to utilize Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as: safety toe footwear, safety glasses,
etc.
