Substance Use Disorder Professional - SUDP - MCOT - Mt. Vernon, WA PFLA enrolled organization What you will be performing The Mobile Crisis Outreach Team (MCOT) SUDP provides crisis intervention substance use disorder/ mental health services to persons of all ages experiencing acute behavioral health issues, in coordinated response with identified law enforcement agencies. These services will be provided primarily in community settings to individuals who are in crisis or for whom a crisis episode is deemed to be imminent.
- Complies with all accurate and appropriate charting, coding, and billing procedures as required by the regulatory organizations.
- Documents delivery of services in the medical record. Completes all paperwork to agency standard and within required timelines.
- Meets or exceeds service hour expectations and/or response time expectations established by the agency.
- Stabilizes the crisis situation at the site of contact whenever possible, utilizing a variety of intervention options including immediate crisis intervention and stabilization strategies and referral for other professionals on the Mobile Crisis Outreach Team.
- When referral for ITA evaluation is necessary, notifies DCR, writes affidavits, and serves as a witness in court when involuntary treatment is indicated. Continues to testify on consumer's behalf for the duration that Involuntary Treatment is indicated (at the end of 120 hours, 14 days, 90 days, etc.).
- Works collaboratively and coordinates with substance disorder treatment centers, psychiatric services, outpatient services, other treatment team members, etc.
- Coordinates services with community agencies (e.g. Schools, DSHS, DDD, Courts, etc.) and works in context of a treatment team as needed and appropriate.
What you will bring with you
- AA in Human Services related field and/or college credits (90 quarter / 60 semester) from an approved school.
- Individuals who do not already hold a license or associate license through the Washington State Department of Health must submit Agency Affiliated Counselor application upon hire and be approved by the DOH.
- Current Washington State Substance Use Disorder Professional (SUDP) certification.
- Direct experience in providing crisis intervention services preferred.
- Training in Motivational Interviewing, DBT, and Trauma-Informed Care preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience with Evidence-Based Practices, or interest and ability to learn.
- Valid Washington State Driver's License including vehicle and appropriate insurance and reliable transportation.
