We are looking for a mission driven Dental Assistant Trainer to join our team!

The Dental Assistant Trainer's primary responsibilities are training and compliance. This position is dedicated to training new and existing Dental Assistants (DAs,) which encompasses persons with no DA experience through persons who are very experienced. They will train dental assisting students who are completing their clinical rotations at OneWorld as well. The DA Trainer is also responsible for regulatory compliance with government and other regulatory bodies, including the Joint Commission. They work closely with the dental leadership team to complete infection control and other regulatory audits, and to develop staff training based on the findings of those audits. The DA Trainer also works to recruit and retain high-quality personnel. The secondary responsibility for the DA Trainer is to fill in for DAs in the clinic during absences and emergency situations, providing substitute chairside dental assisting at all clinic locations as needed.

This is a full-time position located on our main campus (30th & L). The schedule will be 40 hours per week; generally, Monday-Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm.

QUALIFICATIONS:

    1. High School diploma or equivalent required.
    2. Graduation from a dental assisting program preferred.
    3. Prior training in dental assisting required.
    4. Two or more years of dental assisting experience required.
    5. Licensure as a Dental Assistant (LDA) in the state of Nebraska required within first six months of employment. The process for obtaining this licensure includes passing the DANB Certified Dental Assistant exam, or an equivalent exam approved by the Nebraska Board of Dentistry, and passing a jurisprudence exam that covers the statutes, rules, and regulations governing dental assisting in the state of Nebraska.
    6. Successful completion of Level II skills assessment required.
    7. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
    8. Coronal polishing certification required.
    9. Radiography certification required.
    10. Proficiency and experience with Microsoft Office products required; experience with an Electronic Dental Record required.
    11. Proficiency in English required for all locations; proficiency in Spanish required or preferred depending on clinic location and need.
    12. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with OneWorld patients and staff, and to provide excellent customer service.
    13. Demonstrated organizational skills, with a high attention to detail.
    14. Demonstrated ability to work as a member of the dental team, while exhibiting a positive attitude towards working together to get the job done.
    15. Demonstrated ability to work independently or with minimal supervision, while exhibiting exemplary time management skills.
    16. Ability and willingness to travel to and from multiple work locations. Valid driver's license and automobile insurance required.
