WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR: Fors Marsh is seeking an intelligent and motivated researcher to work as a part of a research team on large-scale survey efforts. As a part of our Military Market Research division, this individual will have the opportunity to work on some of our nation's most important issues, including conducting research that supports the sustainment of our All-Volunteer Force. The researcher's primary responsibilities will include conducting and reporting upon analyses of survey data, supporting questionnaire development and background research, and communicating findings in an impactful way to non-technical audiences. This job is best suited for someone who enjoys research, working collaboratively with team members, is detail-oriented, consistently strives to improve, and wants to use research to make an impact. Responsibilities include:
- Analyzing data, including data from large-scale tracking surveys from a variety of audiences. Research topics will include marketing, outreach, and career decision-making.
- Supporting all aspects of the research process, including survey creation, data cleaning, data analysis, and reporting.
- Conducting univariate and multivariate analyses to evaluate factors affecting military recruiting and the public's perceptions of the Military.
- Writing written reports and professional briefings that summarize research findings for non-technical audiences.
- Upholding the highest standards of quality control for yourself and others.
- Balancing roles and responsibilities across multiple concurrent studies. Working under tight deadlines to fulfill client requests.
- Anticipating potential barriers to project completion, proposing solutions to team leadership.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a social science field such as survey methodology, psychology, sociology, public health, or other related fields. Master's degree preferred.
- A minimum of one to three years of post-graduate professional research experience, preferably in the area of market or communication research, decision-making, or social psychology.
- Excellent analytic and dataset manipulation skills (e.g., merging, recoding, cleaning) in at least one statistical software package (e.g., Stata, SPSS, SAS, R).
- Experience creating visual and written summaries of research results (e.g., in PowerPoint and Word) that can be understood by non-technical audiences.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to identify and communicate key findings from research to non-technical audiences.
- Keen eye for detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently without close supervision and as a team member.
- Applicants may be subject to a low-level government security investigation and must meet eligibility criteria for access to sensitive information.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen and consent to a full background check due to our federal contract requirements.
