The Office of Financial Aid is looking for an individual with financial aid, student finance, or similar experience to fill the Student Financial Aid Officer IV position. Apply now to join our team!

The Student Financial Aid Officer IV reports to the Associate Director of Financial Aid for Loans Processing, Eligibility, and Verification and is responsible for reviewing, originating, reconciling, and returning private education loan funds, verifying the accuracy of Return of Title IV Funds calculations, and supervising the Loan Coordinator. Additionally, this position will coordinate repayment activities, maintain process and training documentation, and review business processes.
Minimum Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree and four years previous Financial Aid or Higher Education experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Excellent organizational skills; proficient in MS Office products with ability to learn other software programs; detail oriented, accurate.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide accurate, consistent, and efficient service to students by managing Loans Team email inbox and assisting staff with loans-related questions.
  • Develop and maintain additional checks and balances to ensure compliance; utilize daily reports and ad-hoc audits.
  • Audit Return to Title IV Funds calculations and return funds to the Department of Education.
  • Assist in the fund management process and perform reconciliation to ensure compliance with guidelines.
  • Monitor compliance with all federal, state, and institutional regulations with special attention to Title IV and state funding requirements.
  • Read and review federal and state rules, regulations, and law; communicate relevant updates to staff.
  • Review and analyze current business processes with the goal of maintaining compliance, improving business processes, and proactively identifying potential issues or weaknesses.
  • Oversee the documentation of audits, business processes, and updates to the Policy & Procedure Manual.
  • Coordinate default management and loan repayment programming and communications.
  • Supervise the Loan Coordinator; serve as backup for all loans-related tasks.
  • Attend online training and informational webinars.

Remote Work Notice
Following successful completion of an initial training period, a hybrid work schedule may be available, subject to business needs and departmental approval. Employee must be located within the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex area and have the ability to be on campus for work activities as scheduled and/or with 24-hour notice. Completion and approval of a UT Dallas Remote Work Agreement will be required, and use of personal computer, internet, and other standard equipment may be required. Remote work arrangements are subject to regular review and re-approval and may be cancelled.
