Job Summary
Position Description
The Naveen Jindal School of Management ( JSOM) seeks applicants for an open rank (rank based on qualifications), non-tenure system faculty position (Assistant, Associate or Full Professor of Practice or of Instruction) to support and further develop the academic and outreach programs in its Retail Innovation and Strategy Excellence ( RISE) Center, in the role of Director. In addition to managing relations with the Center's Advisory Board, the Director will be responsible for the design and promotion of conferences and various practitioner and student programs including assisting the undergraduate Marketing program with internships and elite programs, teaching various retail innovation/operation and marketing courses, and supervision of the Center's facilities and staff, which includes operating plans and budget in JSOM. The Director will have teaching responsibilities in the School of Management, therefore, collegiate marketing, business, sales or retail operations teaching experience is needed.
The appointment commences for the fall 2024 semester.
Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience: A Master's or terminal degree in a relevant field of study and 8 or more years of experience in managerial or leadership roles pertaining to retail innovation. Candidates are expected to demonstrate the ability to work effectively in a highly collaborative, engaging, and dynamic environment comprised of individuals with a range of backgrounds, skills, and perspectives. We are seeking candidates able to deliver high quality teaching using evidence-based practices to effectively engage students from a range of backgrounds and experiences.
Preferred Education and Experience: A PhD in a retail-related field and relevant business school teaching experience is preferred.

Continue to expand professional influence in the academic discipline through research and/or publication;
Engage in service within the academic unit, the university, and the profession as appropriate based on teaching and research constraints;
Teach eight (8) classes each academic year.
