Tufts Medical Center Post-Doctoral Fellow in Health Economics and Outcomes Research The Center for the Evaluation of Value and Risk in Health (CEVR) at Tufts Medical Center and GSK are pleased to announce a post-doctoral fellowship position that will focus on the economics of vaccination and infectious diseases. Positions are filled on a rolling basis. This two-year fellowship program will provide an excellent opportunity to gain unique and in-depth applied work experience in health and economic outcomes studies relating to vaccines. The program will train a qualified candidate in health economic evaluation, outcomes research, decision sciences, and health policy analysis. The overall goal of the fellowship program is to help prepare the fellow for careers in pharmaceutical industry, academic, or consulting settings. In the first year, the fellow will train at CEVR, located at Tufts Medical Center in Boston, MA. The fellow will learn value assessment methods and collaborate with CEVR faculty to conduct health economics and outcomes research with a focus on vaccines. The fellow will investigate key analytic issues and produce original manuscripts using various data sources such as the Tufts CEVR Global Health Cost-Effectiveness Analysis (GH CEA) Registry (www.ghcearegistry.org). The fellow may also conduct additional vaccine-related analyses stemming from CEVR's ongoing global health deliverables and international research partnerships. In the second year, the fellow will work directly with the GSK Vaccines Health Outcomes and Epidemiology team in Philadelphia, PA (or remotely). The team conducts health services research employing methodologies spanning from observational analyses to cost-effectiveness modeling. The fellow will get hands-on experience applying their research expertise in a highly matrixed team environment. The fellow will also gain an understanding of evidence generation strategy and of the US vaccines policy environment. Assists in securing research funding by contributing to grant writing and research proposal development. 8. Collaborates with healthcare professionals and institutions to collect clinical data and samples for research purposes. 9. Contributes to the development and validation of new diagnostic tools, treatments, and interventions. 10. Participates in the preparation of research reports, progress updates, and grant applications. 11. Mentors and provide guidance to undergraduate and graduate students involved in research projects. 12. Collaborates with industry partners to translate research findings into practical applications and technologies. 13. Collaborates with regulatory bodies and ethics committees to ensure compliance with research protocols and regulations. 14. Contributes to the dissemination of research findings to healthcare professionals, policymakers, and the general public through various channels, such as seminars, workshops, and publications. 15. Maintains accurate and organized records of research data, protocols, and results, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality. Physical Requirements: 1. Typical clinical and administrative office setting. Skills & Abilities: 1. Demonstrated experience in research design, data collection, statistical analysis, and scientific writing. 2. Proficiency in statistical software packages (e.g., SPSS, SAS, R) and data management tools. 3. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to interpret complex data sets. 4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including experience presenting research findings to diverse audiences. 5. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment. 6. Knowledge of ethical guidelines and regulations related to healthcare research.
