What you'll do

We are seeking a seasoned Strategic Planning Lead to own the end to end process of annual Strategic Initiatives for Docusign. This includes developing the list, understanding the initiatives and their goals, and leading and driving the process to interlock cross-functionally (on scope and resources) in order to deliver the expected outcomes. This highly crucial role requires executive presence, specifically the ability to zoom-in to detail and ask the right questions, but also zoom out for higher level audiences. The ideal candidate will have deep experience in strategic planning, program management, and collaboration across multiple teams, especially in a fast-paced tech environment. The ideal candidate is someone who can easily adapt, is dedicated to finding solutions, and responds promptly.

This position is an individual contributor role reporting to the Change Management Principal.

Responsibility

  • Lead the end-to-end program management of the annual planning cycle, ensuring key collaborators are engaged and deadlines are met
  • Work closely with product, engineering, IT, GTM, marketing, finance, legal and operations teams to ensure alignment of central initiatives and resourcing
  • Develop, implement, and run frameworks for cross-functional alignment during the planning process
  • Help support translation of business goals into measurable objectives and key results across departments
  • Facilitate partner discussions and workshops to interlock on prioritized initiatives and resource allocation based on strategic objectives
  • Establish clear project timelines, deliverables, and landmarks for all planning-related activities
  • Monitor progress, identify risks, and drive resolutions for any bottlenecks or roadblocks
  • Create scalable processes to streamline the annual planning cycle year over year
  • Design and implement a robust tracking and reporting system to monitor progress toward strategic goals
  • Regularly update the executive team on the status of key initiatives and the overall health of the company's strategic roadmap
  • Ensure all departments provide consistent and accurate performance reporting
  • Identify areas for improvement in the annual planning process and implement standard methodologies to improve efficiency.
  • Stay informed about the latest trends and tools in planning to improve the organization's planning process.
  • Analyze internal and external trends to provide insights that shape the company's long-term strategy
  • Conduct competitive analysis and market research to inform planning decisions and strategy shifts
  • Provide leadership with actionable insights to make informed decisions, backed by data and analytics
  • Implement quarterly reporting cycle to gather and report health updates across approved program initiatives (something to reflect an ongoing reporting cadence whether quarterly or semi annually)

Job Designation

Hybrid: Employee divides their time between in-office and remote work. Access to an office location is required. (Frequency: Minimum 2 days per week; may vary by team but will be weekly in-office expectation)

What you bring

Basic

  • 8+ years of cross-functional corporate strategic planning experience
  • Experience developing and supporting executive communications and presentations
  • Experience operationalizing communications for rhythmic/recurring communication channels while maintaining and tracking engagement (reach, resonance, relevance)
  • Experience creating and operationalizing processes across communities and help drive adoption of improvements throughout the enterprise
  • Experience developing strong collaborator relationships across large teams and using strong networks to increase impact

Preferred

  • Understanding and experience providing support and business readiness planning for enterprise audiences
  • Obsession with details, coordination, creativity, and a bias for action
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability engage collaborators across the organizations, drive consensus and build trusted-advisor relationships
  • Proactive communication skills with the program team, team Leadership, and business partners as applicable
  • An impact player with a track record of converting ideas to impact, spotting and acting upon opportunities especially in times of change or setback
  • Shows up as a learn-it-all with a strong willingness to grade and analyze our delivery and work for continuous improvement
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment and can flex and prioritize based on new information and program changes
  • Natural problem-solver with proven experience managing multiple unique programs, projects, and partner groups with good instincts around when to call out concerns
  • Strong meeting effectiveness and facilitation, especially across diverse collaborator groups
  • Bias for the lightest effective process that best serves the community of partners

Wage Transparency

Pay for this position is based on a number of factors including geographic location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

Based on applicable legislation, the below details pay ranges in the following locations:

California: $134,900.00 - $216,975.00 base salary

Illinois: $129,000.00 - $182,250.00 base salary

Washington: $129,000.00 - $190,550.00 base salary

This role is also eligible for bonus, equity and benefits.
