Electrophysiology Clinician RN- Cath Lab
Overview Four 10-hour shifts per week There will be crosstraining in the interventional lab and a limited on-call responsibility The EP Lab Clinician RN is an integral member of the catheterization lab team and demonstrates clinical expertise and advanced decision making skills, serves as a resource for peers, co-workers, and patients/families and assumes leadership responsibilities assigned by the cath lab manager. The EP Lab Clinician RN is responsible for the operation, maintenance and application of EP procedures including but not limited to: scrub device related procedure ; Hemodynamic monitoring/analysis; perform pacing protocols ; measuring and document arrhythmias; perform 3D mapping; imaging; physiologic monitoring, analysis, and documentation; circulating; anticoagulation and hematologic monitoring/analysis; blood gas and chemistry monitoring/analysis; administration of medications, administration of blood components; procedure assisting; inventory management and control; database entry; and any other duties as assigned. The EP Lab Clinician RN shall provide age-appropriate care to patients from the age of birth through 21 years, and select adult patients. Individuals must understand and follow physician, departmental, and Nationwide Children's Hospital policies and procedures, documentation required by ODH, Radiation Safety Officer, CLIA, CAP, and JCAHO. Operates cardiac catheterization, EP, and intervention equipment as ordered by the physicians.
Qualifications Knowledge, Skills and Abilities required 1. Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited school of nursing. 2. Licensed Registered Nurse 3. BSN required 4. Two years of relevant clinical experience as a nurse. 5. Documented congenital heart disease experience. 6. BLS required; PALS and ACLS certifications required within 4 months of employment and maintained throughout employment. 7. Must maintain necessary licensure/certification(s). Minimum Physical Requirements Must be in good physical condition and mental health. Must be able to push heavy equipment and move large boxes of disposable supplies. Must be able to handle high levels of stress in emergency situations. Must be able to stand for long periods of time. Must be able to respond quickly to problem-solving situations while maintaining excellent interpersonal relations. Ability to visually and audibly perform all essential functions.
