Overview

The Nurse Educator - Family Resource Center oversees planning, implementing, assessing, and evaluating educational programming and clinical skill development required for patient families and allied health professionals. Promotes patient advocacy in accordance with the ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses and maintains a current Ohio Nursing License.

Responsibilities

* Assesses and develops specific education to meet needs, collaborating with leadership and system resources.
* Provides classroom style education, huddles, or other methods of delivery of education targeting learning needs.
* Serves as coach and role model, as well as an educational resource for patient families and allied health professionals; facilitates communication of policy and system changes that impact patient care.
* Oversees competency assessments and skills training



Qualifications

Education: BSN required

Licensure: Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio

Certifications: Preferred Certification in Professional Development/Education, Leadership or Clinical Specialty. Current CPR certification. Must be willing to obtain and maintain NRP and PALS certification as determined by your manager.

Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office and EPIC; Knowledge of and ability to deliver live training courses to facilitate audience learning.

Experience: Minimum 3 years of demonstrated clinical competency in a pediatric setting preferred.

Exposure to Blood and/or bodily fluids Exposure to Communicable diseases and/or pathogens Exposure to chemicals/ medications Usage of Patient equipment Exposure to fumes/gases/vapors Exposure to biohazard waste

FREQUENTLY: 34-66% OF THE TIME (2.6 TO 5.0 HOURS) Standing Walking Hand use: grasping, gripping, Turning Depth perception Loud noises

CONTINUOUSLY: 67-100% OF THE TIME (5.1 TO 12 HOURS OR GREATER) Sitting Flexing/extending of neck Repetitive hand/arm usage Computer skills Audible speech Hearing acuity Color vision Seeing- far/near Peripheral vision Problem solving skills Decision making skills Interpreting data skills
