Looking for a Building Enclosure (Building Envelope) Engineer in Training (EIT) for our Nashville, TN location.

The Building Enclosure is responsible for creating environmental separation between controlled interior conditions and the uncontrolled exterior environment. As building enclosure systems become increasingly complex, there is a corresponding increase in demand for engineering consulting services to verify the performance of these systems.

The Building Enclosure Engineer in Training (EIT) assists the senior staff in the execution of the technical activities required on assigned projects and learns the discipline technical policies and procedures; under supervision participates in technical studies, investigations, and site visits; assists the project team in the production of projects on time, within budget and of the highest technical quality.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Apply sound architectural engineering principles to the following tasks associated with building enclosure commissioning and consulting:



  1. Conduct peer reviews of architectural drawings and specifications
  2. Review submittals and shop drawings
  3. Develop test procedures for new and existing building enclosure systems
  4. Perform construction site visits to verify system performance and testing which will include working at heights



  • Assist in the performance of condition surveys and failure investigations of existing buildings
  • Assist in the development of building enclosure repair design documents
  • Demonstrate interest in learning and operating enclosure related software
  • Act and perform activities inside and outside the organization in a manner consistent with the ethical engineering standards in the company handbook
  • Travel up to 50% of the time dependent on local work load and project locations


An ideal candidate will possess the following requirements:



  • Preferred Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, or related field
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • A demonstrated ability to learn the basics of design and analysis within his/her discipline
