Overview

The Education Coordinator, Office of Trainee Affairs is responsible for planning, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating education activities of Nationwide Children's Hospital (NCH) Abigail Wexner Research Institute (AWRI), with a specific focus on the Center for Gene Therapy, in collaboration with clinical, research, and partners. Responsible for project/program development, fiscal management and administrative support for assigned education activities.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

    Coordinates initial and ongoing development of education programs with the Center for Gene Therapy, including, but not limited to: o Coordination of gene therapy courses with the OSU registrar and faculty lecturers o Organizing the planning committee for the NCH/OSU Myology Training Course o Serving as the project coordinator for GME Fellowship programs directed by Center for Gene Therapy faculty
  • Serves as a Subject Matter Expert on Continuing Medical Education (CME) regulations and processes at NCH. Trains and provides support to other CME coordinators within AWRI.
  • Manges the Clinical and Translational Research Seminar Series. Meets all CME requirements for the activity, performs all administrative support for the series (reimbursements, room reservations, etc.) Collaborates with the Chair of the Department of Pediatrics and NCH Division Chiefs to recruit speakers.
  • Gathers, organizes, and professionally communicates scientific educational opportunities (seminars/workshops/courses) weekly to a large professional audience across the organization on multiple platforms.
  • Collaborates with Marketing to maintains up-to-date information on the Web related to programs of responsibility.
  • Coordinates evaluation of education programs as requested. Aggregates data for trend analysis. Assists in implementation and tracking of improvements.
  • Manages files and databases to assure complete and accurate records. Ensures reports are accurate and submitted in a timely manner. Maintains reporting and regulatory initiatives as assigned.
  • Manages meeting planning. Recommends and administers operations and expenses for assigned activities. Participates in ongoing professional development activities. Note: Regular, reliable and consistent attendance is an essential job function.
  • Employees are expected to perform work as scheduled.


Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Education Requirement: College degree or equivalent experience required Licensure Requirement: Must have a valid Ohio driver's license for travel as necessary. Certifications: For Graduate Medical Education positions only - Training Administrators of Graduate Medical Education (TAGME) certification is required within three years of start for candidates without a college degree. Skills: Proficiency in MS Office. Excellent oral and written communication. Strong command of the English language, grammar and spelling. Interdisciplinary program planning required. Data analysis and analytical thinking.

Experience: 3 - 5 years' experience in program planning or project management. Experience in policy development and fiscal management required.
