Halff has an opening for a Roadway Engineer, with a Texas PE License, to be a Project Manager to join our growing Roadway / Transportation team based out of our Corpus Christi, TX office. The ideal candidate would have at least 8 years of experience in roadway / transportation project development with emphasis in delivery of TxDOT Transportation PS&E and/or Schematic Design projects. Roadway Engineer (PE) Project Manager - Transportation PS&E / Schematic Design Responsibilities:


  • Works under a Transportation Team Leader in the development of roadway design projects both for Plans, Specifications and Estimates (PS&E) and Schematic Design
  • Works closely with the other design staff, consultants, and clients to deliver projects that contribute to the growth and safety of Texas roadways
  • Manages transportation projects or tasks in support of business needs
  • Assists in managing the workload of design staff including other Engineers, EIT's, and technical staff
  • Assists in development and management of project scopes, budgets, and schedules
  • Reviews transportation designs and detailed plans for accuracy and consistency
  • Reports on project progress
  • Collaborates with clients and other consultants
  • Works with the Transportation Team Leader and Operations Manager in business development activities


Roadway Engineer (PE) Project Manager - Transportation PS&E / Schematic Design Education/Experience Requirements:


  • Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Civil Engineering or ABET accredited equivalent Engineering degree
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License in the State of Texas or are able and willing to obtain license within six months of starting date
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in TxDOT Roadway / Transportation PS&E and/or Schematic Design project delivery
  • Experience performing complex transportation engineering tasks and coordinating with clients or stakeholders
  • MicroStation CADD and Geopak experience, OpenRoads experience desirable
  • Ability to lead a project and supervise technical staff
  • Experience managing roadway design projects and plan production
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and decision-making skills
  • Commitment to quality

  • TxDOT experience (as a TxDOT employee or consultant) is desirable
