Halff has an open position for a Traffic / ITS Engineer, with a Florida EI Certification or PE License, to join our Traffic / ITS Engineering team based out of our Tallahassee, FL office. The ideal candidate would have at least 3 years of experience conducting traffic impact and level of service analyses. This role will allow you the opportunity to be trained and mentored by an experienced Traffic / ITS Engineer and to gain ever increasing professional responsibility. Traffic / ITS Engineer (EI / PE) Responsibilities:
- Works under a Team Leader in the development of traffic impact & level of service analyses
- Manages traffic / ITS projects or tasks in support of business needs
- Assists in managing the workload of design staff including other Engineers, EI's, and technical staff
- Assists in development and management of project scopes, budgets, and schedules
- Reviews traffic / ITS designs and detailed plans for accuracy and consistency
- Reports on project progress
- Collaborates with clients and other consultants
- Assists with business development activities
Traffic / ITS Engineer (EI / PE) Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Civil Engineering or ABET accredited equivalent Engineering Degree
- Engineer Intern (EI) or Professional Engineer (PE) License, preferably in Florida, or able and willing to obtain within 1 year of starting date
- At least 3 years of experience conducting traffic impact & level of service analyses
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Must be self-directed yet a team player, and have focus on quality, integrity and success
- Proficiency with MicroStation and Microsoft Office Software
- Ability to communicate effectively with staff and clients
- GIS capability is a plus
