QPS Employment Group is hiring a Lead Developer at our Headquarters office in Brookfield, WI. This role collaborates with the development team on defining all aspects of development, including appropriate technology, workflow, and coding standards. They provide recommendations for continuous improvement, collaborate cross-functionally to achieve optimal solutions, write efficient code, conduct code reviews, and stay updated with industry technologies.

This is a permanent full-time, internal opportunity with QPS. Working hours will be Monday - Friday, 1st shift, and must be flexible to work 40-45 hours a week, coming in early or staying late if needed. The Lead Developer will report directly to the Vice President of Strategic Technology.

What you'll be doing:
  • Design and develop new architecture for integrations and overall system database framework with the objective of modernizing the environment.
  • Collaborate on defining all aspects of development, including appropriate technology, workflow, and coding standards.
  • Design, build, and configure applications to meet business process and application requirements.
  • Analyze, design, develop, test, and document using various technologies within estimated schedules.
  • Make informed decisions quickly and take ownership of services and applications at scale.
  • Provide recommendations for continuous improvement and innovative solutions.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with all users to achieve optimal solutions and ensure alignment with business goals.
  • Write testable, scalable, and efficient code, adhering to coding standards and best practices.
  • Conduct code reviews of team members' code to ensure high code quality.
  • Stay updated with new industry technologies and developments related to software development and tools, applying them to build and maintain applications.
  • Collaborate with the QPS Development Team to understand legacy systems and designs, leveraging their knowledge to facilitate the transition to a modern platform.
  • Collaborate with senior stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Other duties as assigned.
What we look for:
  • Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field required. Will accept experience in related fields in place of educational requirements.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred.
  • Required experience in .Net application development and design patterns.
  • Full Microsoft Stack Development experience using the latest Visual Studio or Microsoft DevOps tools.
  • Experience and confidence with SQL Server.
  • Experience with Agile and Scrum Software Development methodology preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to learn quickly and work independently or as part of a team.
