Description

Convergint is looking for a full-time, enthusiastic, results driven and forward-thinking Security Service Technician to join our amazing culture. In this role, you will respond to a variety of customer service calls, scheduled maintenance calls, and emergency and after-hours calls on a timely basis; will diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and replace defective parts and debug a variety of systems for more complicated problems; installs projects as necessary.   • Exceptional customer focus and ability to work under pressure; ability to maintain awareness of and seek to meet the needs and wants of the customer without being prompted
  • Solid technical skills and experience related to building automation systems, fire alarm systems, and/or electronic security systems
  • Solid programming skills and proven ability to troubleshoot problems and look for solutions
  • Must be a self-starter and work well with general supervision
  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude (e.g. works with a variety of hand and power tools such as drill, screwdriver, wire stripper, hacksaw, and crimper)
  • Frequent visits to job sites are required. Minimal overnight travel is required. A valid driver's license is required.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Solid organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple service needs simultaneously
  • Proficient computer skills, including familiarity with MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Perform service duties during normal business hours and on-call after-hours, weekends, and holidays rotation
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as requested or required.



What You'll Need

  • Solid technical skills and/or experience related to fire alarm systems, and/or electronic security systems.
  • Solid programming skills and proven ability to troubleshoot problems and look for solutions.
  • Must be a self-starter and work well with direct supervision.
  • Solid mechanical and electrical aptitude (e.g. works with a variety of hand and power tools such as drill, screwdriver, wire stripper, hacksaw, crimper).
  • A valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to travel locally to jobsites on a regular basis. Minimal overnight travel may be required.

Requirements:

Education: High School/GED or equivalent experience

Minimum Experience: 3-5 years servicing, integrating, and programming access control systems

Preferred Experience: (but not required):



  • Relevant field service
  • CCTV experience: Milestone / Genetec
  • Access Control experience: AMAG / Lenel / Genetec / Software House - CCURE / S2
  • Intrusion experience: DMP / Bosch
