Position Summary Conduct academic and registration advisement for significant cohort of graduate and undergraduate students. Advise these students and process all necessary paperwork regarding registration, study abroad, permission to register off-campus, leaves of absence, AWOL status, and readmission. Review, troubleshoot and approve degree progress reports for graduation candidates. Create and maintain departmental student database. Coordinate and attend special programs and events. Support the admissions process. Qualifications Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree Preferred Education: Master's Degree higher education/student affairs, arts management, counseling, or other related area. Required Experience: 2+ years advising or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred Experience: 2+ years Prior experience in an academic environment. Experience developing and maintaining computer databases and utilizing information systems such as PeopleSoft, Starfish, etc. Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Ability to collaborate, mediate and negotiate with diverse audience. Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and written and verbal communication skills. Knowledge of standard office software including Microsoft Office Suite and Google Apps for Education. Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: High volume of student and faculty interaction Additional Information In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $70,000.00 to USD $76,734.03. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
