You have completed a BS, MS, or PhD in Nuclear Engineering, or a related degree (e.g., physics with nuclear concentration). You may have also obtained an advanced degree in similar fields. You have worked in an engineering role for at least 7 years and are ready to join Framatome and help deliver clean, safe energy and advance nuclear technology.

You may have also acquired the following skills:



  • You have demonstrated experience in pressurized water reactor (PWR) or boiling water reactor (BWR) thermal-hydraulics engineering.
  • You have experience with nuclear industry systems, subchannel codes (e.g. VIPRE or COBRA), or other software-development/method codes.
  • You have worked on engineering workstation computers and within LINUX operating environments. You have some computer programming/software capabilities and experience in FORTRAN, C/C++, or PYTHON.
  • You display positive and effective team interaction skills and value positive peer relationships.
  • You have developed effective written and oral communication skills.



Your Opportunity
This full-time role is about making an impact on people's lives and the future of clean energy. You will leverage your skills and experience to be part of an innovative team and make a difference for our customers. As a Principal Core Thermal Hydraulics Engineer in Lynchburg, VA (remote work will also be considered for highly experienced candidates), you will be part of the proven team in the PWR Core Design & Safety Analysis Department in the Fuel Business Unit. Your work will include preparing and applying nuclear reactor thermal-hydraulic principles and models for plant safety analyses. You will be involved in the preparation of engineering documentation, supporting regular customer interactions, and work with related engineering disciplines to resolve complex technical issues to produce high quality solutions. The department also supports analyses of advanced reactor designs and small modular reactor concepts. This position requires occasional travel. Together we will enable clean, safe, and economical low-carbon energy to meet the global ambition for a better tomorrow.

Your Total Rewards Package

The range of base salary for the position is between $110,000 - $149,000, and may also include annual incentives, performance bonuses and benefits. Please note that the base salary range is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies and work location.
