Position Summary

Perform a wide range of clerical, secretarial and general office duties including those of a confidential nature. Support our events and programming. Prioritize office activities and delegate work to student and/or casual employees. Respond to inquiries displaying a comprehensive knowledge of the departmental offerings and policies. Interact with the general public and act as NYU contact/liaison. Interact with University personnel including those at the senior level regarding specific issues and problems. Customize and/or compose letters in response to requests for information. Perform general word processing duties utilizing intermediate to advanced-level functions. Modify and/or create databases and complex spreadsheets.



Qualifications

Required Education:
High School diploma or equivalent or an Associate's degree or some college.

Preferred Education:
Bachelor's degree.

Required Experience:
3 years of office experience (with High School diploma). 2 years of office experience (with Associates degree or some college).

Preferred Experience:
1-2 years of office experience (with Bachelor's degree).

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Proficiency with intermediate to advanced word processing, spreadsheet and database applications. Moderate to fast, accurate keyboarding. Good proofreading and writing skills.

Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Proficiency with intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office or proficiency with Apple. Knowledge of desktop publishing software. Experience in a higher education administration setting and/or event management background.



Additional Information

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the hourly rate for this position is USD $37.90. This rate is based on bargaining unit contracts. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
