Position Summary University Development and Alumni Relations (UDAR) is dedicated to soliciting the private funding necessary to support the strategic goals of the University in teaching, learning, and research. The personnel of UDAR work university-wide as well as within individual schools and colleges of the University to discover, motivate, cultivate, solicit, and steward alumni, parents, faculty, and friends for immediate, long-range, and future financial support, through gifts and pledges to the University, for critical operations such as student aid, faculty support, academic and research program development, and facilities and infrastructure. UDAR's endeavors raise funds for immediate University use and also for the University's endowment. Serve as the creative strategist and graphic designer for NYU's development and alumni relations efforts. Build original, creative designs for integrated marketing campaigns, emails, presentations, social media, flyers, gift proposals, solicitations, brochures, bulletins, invitations, newsletters, posters, signage, etc for University Development and Alumni Relations, ensuring production specifications, while staying within budget and hitting deadlines. Able to listen and ask the right questions to transform colleagues' ideas into visually-compelling assets. Use storytelling and visual design to showcase the University's position as a global leader in higher education; formulate marketing strategies to promote NYU. Part strategy consultant, part brand manager, and part interactive designer, this role requires an entrepreneurial, creative individual, who exhibits a thorough understanding of the marketing, media, and communications landscape in higher education and in New York City. Qualifications Required Education: Ability to take direction from multiple managers and follow instructions Previous experience working in a team-based environment under tight production deadlines A keen eye for typography, color, and photography Fluent in Photoshop, InDesign, and Canva; working knowledge of Illustrator and Premiere (or Avid, Final Cut) and MailChimp (or other email marketing software) Adept at storytelling Enjoys working on a variety projects, and works well both independently and with others Balances highly-creative and conceptual thinking with business strategy Simplifies, clarifies, and illustrates complex concepts Thrives in a busy, multifaceted environment Ability to manipulate, scale, size, color correct, convert photography to and from RGB, CMYK, and B&W for print and digital environments Seamlessly switches between print, interactive, and email design Experience in executing complex digital campaigns and detailed print projects Experience servicing the needs of multiple clients and managers Creative and curious Excellent planning, problem-solving, and communication skills Expertise with Google Apps (Google Docs, Sheets, Slides) and Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel Experience with web design Proficiency with other graphic design software packages Video production/editing/animation Project management skills in the areas of graphic design and production Additional Information In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $90,000.00 to USD $110,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.
