Position Summary University Development and Alumni Relations (UDAR) is dedicated to soliciting the private funding necessary to support the strategic goals of the University in teaching, learning, and research. The personnel of UDAR work university-wide as well as within individual schools and colleges of the University to discover, motivate, cultivate, solicit, and steward alumni, parents, faculty, and friends for immediate, long-range, and future financial support, through gifts and pledges to the University, for critical operations such as student aid, faculty support, academic and research program development, and facilities and infrastructure. UDAR's endeavors raise funds for immediate University use and also for the University's endowment. The Senior Director of Development is an instrumental part of the Rory Meyers College of Nursing fundraising efforts. Develop, plan, manage and implement strategies for increasing unrestricted, restricted, and planned gifts for the College of Nursing and across the University. Manage and maintain a strategic donor portfolio and is responsible for cultivating, soliciting, and closing major gifts in the 6-figure to 8-figure range. Engage the highest levels of volunteers through activities such as, the dean's advisory council, staffing meetings, working with volunteer and school leadership to identify new prospects. Coordinate engagement opportunities, develop transformational gift opportunities, and oversee successful stewardship planning. Coordinate and collaborate with other UDAR fundraisers to maximize philanthropic activity and create effective cultivation and solicitation strategy. Travel will be required as it fits in with the overall fundraising strategy for the School and the dean's priorities. Maintain strong relationships within the College of Nursing, and in supporting the fundraising efforts in accordance with the mission and values. Qualifications Required Education: Experience managing volunteer groups Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and effectively multi-task large scale projects while fostering supportive and collaborative relationships with colleagues Ability to interact successfully with a diverse group of individuals Experience with Nonprofit fundraising and philanthropy Ability to travel both domestically and internationally Experience managing including orienting, training, mentoring, and motivating staff who support development goals Additional Information In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $150,000.00 to USD $190,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.
